About CBC

The Cayo Birders Club Mission focuses on three interconnected pillars: Community, Stewardship, and Education. 

Birdwatching outings among our members help strengthen a feeling of friendship, community, and common interests, while fostering a sense of stewardship for local species and environments. As members learn more about Belize's birds, they carry that enthusiasm, appreciation, and knowledge to other activites and relationships, passing what they have learned to others. 

At CBC, we believe that birding isn't a competition or a sport, it's an opportunity to engage with the natural world and feel a deep connection to each other. Rather than checking species off a list or earning rankings as "top" birders, we focus on engendering an appreciation for nature and a sense of ownership for the future of Belize.
